JOTLINE PRIVACY POLICY

Jotline is a personal-assistant service operated over SMS text messaging and this companion web application. It is owned and operated by Ice Fog Analytics Inc. ("we", "us"), the business registered for this messaging program. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

  • Account information: your email address (from checkout), mobile phone number, name (optional), and timezone.
  • Message content: the text messages you send to Jotline and the messages we send you. This includes the tasks, reminders, shopping items, journal entries, and check-in answers you create.
  • Billing information: handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Integration credentials: if you connect a third-party service (for example a time-tracking or farm-management tool), we store the API credentials you provide, encrypted, and use them only to perform the actions you request.
  • Usage data: message counts, delivery status, and technical logs needed to run and debug the service.
  • Referral source: if you arrive at our website from a link that carries tracking tags, your browser keeps those tags and the referring site and sends them along when you start a trial, so we can measure which channels bring people to Jotline. This is used only for our own measurement, is never tied to your mobile number for any outside purpose, and is never given to anyone else. Website traffic is measured with Vercel's cookie-free analytics, which does not identify you.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To operate the service: interpreting your messages, storing your items, sending the reminders and check-ins you configure.
  • AI processing: the content of messages you send to Jotline is processed by an AI model provider (Anthropic, accessed via Vercel) to interpret your request. Per our providers' API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
  • To send you service messages (confirmations, reminders, check-ins, billing notices). We do not send marketing messages by SMS.
  • To meter usage against your subscription plan.

SMS PROGRAM

Jotline is a conversational text-messaging service. When you text Jotline, it texts back a reply to your request. It also sends the reminders and check-ins you schedule, one-time sign-in links you ask for, and account notices (for example, when you approach your plan's message allowance). We do not send marketing or promotional messages by SMS.

Messages are sent only after you opt in: you enter your mobile number on our website, we send one confirmation text, and you reply YES from that phone. Message frequency varies with your usage. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. Opt-out is honored immediately; no further messages are sent except a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed.

MOBILE INFORMATION AND SMS CONSENT

We do not share, sell, rent, or provide your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to deliver the Jotline service you signed up for.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our instructions and only to run Jotline: Twilio (SMS delivery), Stripe (payments), Vercel and Neon (hosting and database), and Anthropic (AI processing). If you explicitly connect a third-party integration, we send that service only the specific actions you ask Jotline to perform there. None of these providers may use your information for their own marketing. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes.

RETENTION AND DELETION

Your content is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings (or by emailing us); this permanently deletes your tasks, lists, journal entries, check-in answers, messages, and integration credentials within 30 days. We may retain minimal billing records as required by law.

SECURITY

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Integration credentials are additionally encrypted at the application level. Access is limited to operating the service.

CHILDREN

Jotline is for adults 18 and over.
